Our 8-day Morocco itinerary from Marrakesh to Tangier is full of adventure. We will see big mountains, cross winding roads, and visit old castles like Ait Ben Haddou. You will walk through deep valleys and canyons before reaching the golden sand of the Merzouga Desert. There, you will ride a camel, watch the sunset, and sleep in a comfortable tent under the stars. You will also explore the desert in a 4×4 car and visit a busy market in Rissani. On the way, we will see Ifrane, a city like Europe, and a forest where monkeys live. We will stop in Fes and Meknes, two ancient cities with lots to see. We will also explore Volubilis, old Roman ruins, and the beautiful blue city of Chefchaouen. The adventure ends in Tangier, by the sea. This fun trip lets you see amazing places, meet new people, and learn about Morocco.

Join us on an 8-day trip through Morocco, from the Markets of Marrakech to the seaside in Tangier. Travel through the High Atlas Mountains, explore UNESCO-listed kasbahs, and enter into the golden dunes of the Sahara Desert. We will experience the vibrant culture of Fes, stroll through the blue-washed streets of Chefchaouen, and uncover the rich history of ancient cities in Morocco and Roman ruins.
Our 8-day Morocco itinerary starts in Marrakesh, where our driver will pick you up from the airport and take you to your riad. You will explore the city, known as the Red City, with a guided tour. Visit famous places like the Koutoubia Mosque, Saadian Tombs, Ben Youssef Madrasa, and Bahia Palace. Walk through the lively souks, see local crafts, and enjoy the famous Jemaa el-Fna Square. You might visit El Badi Palace, the beautiful Majorelle Gardens, Menara Gardens, or the Marrakech Museum in the afternoon. After a fun day, you will return to your riad for a relaxing night.
After breakfast, we head south to the Tizi nTichka Pass in the High Atlas Mountains, passing Berber villages and scenic views. Our first stop is Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO site and the Hollywood of Morocco. We will enjoy lunch and take photos before visiting Taourirt Kasbah. We will continue along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, passing the Valley of Roses before reaching Dades Valley. Here, we will see the famous Monkey Fingers rock formations and a panoramic viewpoint. Dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel.
After breakfast, we will drive via Dades Valley, stopping to admire its stunning gorges. Next, we will explore Todra Gorges, where towering rock walls frame a spectacular view. We will take time to explore before lunch in the palm groves of Tinjdad and Touroug. In the afternoon, we reach Merzouga, where you will ride dromedaries across the golden Erg Chebbi dunes at sunset. After a two-hour trek, arrive at a luxury desert camp for tea, dinner, music by the fire, and a magical night under the stars.
We recommend waking up early to see the sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, we will trek back to Merzouga and visit an eyeliner mine to learn about local history. We will also visit nomadic families, enjoying tea in their tents. Next, we will visit Khamlia village, known for its Gnaoua music and dance, before lunch at a local restaurant. Afterward, we will take a peaceful walk through a lush palm grove and then visit Flamingos Lake. Return to your accommodations for dinner and a restful night.
On day 5, we will leave the Merzouga Desert after breakfast and visit Rissani, an old trading town. If it is market day, we will explore the lively souk. Then, we will stop in Erfoud to see a fossil workshop. As we drive along the Ziz River, we will enjoy stunning views before having lunch in Midelt. In the afternoon, we will visit a cedar forest where monkeys live and take a walk to see them up close. Later, we will stop in Ifrane, known as the “Swiss of Morocco,” before arriving in Fes for dinner and staying in a riad for the night.
After breakfast, we will take a guided tour of Fes, starting at the Royal Palace gate. Next, explore the medieval Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, entering through the Blue Gate (Bab Boujloud). We will visit sites like the Medrasa Bouanania, Najjarine Fountain, Tanneries, and Quaraouin Mosque, the oldest university in the world. We will continue to the Jewish quarter (Mellah) and enjoy panoramic city views from an ancient fortress before returning to your riad for the night.
After breakfast, we travel to Meknes, one of the 4 imperial cities in Morocco. We will visit Bab Al-Mansour, the Royal Stables, the granary, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. After some free time for lunch, we head to Volubilis, an ancient Roman city with beautiful mosaics, pillars, and archways. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After exploring the ruins, we will drive through the Rif Mountains to Chefchaouen, the Blue City. This lovely town has blue-painted streets and buildings. We will stay overnight in a hotel.
After breakfast on the last day of our trip, we will drive to Tangier. If time allows, we will visit Tetouan, a UNESCO-listed city. The tour concludes at the airport or port of Tangier. We hope you had a fantastic trip and look forward to welcoming you again in Morocco.
Ait-Ben-Haddou is a unique village made of red mud and straw. It is ancient and was built along a river a long time ago. The buildings were made to keep people safe from the hot desert sun. Ait-Ben-Haddou used to be where traders passed through on their way to the desert. The walls and narrow paths helped protect the village from bad guys. Today, it is a cool place to visit and learn about the history of Morocco.
Casablanca is the biggest city in Morocco, where you can see modern buildings and old traditions. It is famous for the beautiful Hassan II Mosque and the busy La Corniche beach area. Even though our 8-day Morocco tour does not include Casablanca, it is a great place to start your adventure in Morocco. This tour is private, so we can change it to include a visit to Casablanca. Casablanca is a wonderful place to explore more of Morocco, from its historic sites to fun modern spots.
Chefchaouen is a beautiful Moroccan town famous for its bright blue buildings and tall mountains. On the 7th day of our 8-day Morocco trip, we will visit this peaceful place in the Rif Mountains. Chefchaouen is unique because of its quiet, pretty streets and cool blue color. You can walk around, shop in little markets, and see how people live there. If you love nature, you can also go on a fun hike to the Akchour Waterfalls. Whether exploring the blue streets or finding hidden spots, Chefchaouen is a magical place you won’t forget.
On Day 5 of our 8-day Morocco trip, we will visit Fez, one of the oldest and most important cities in Morocco. Fez is a famous old town with a history and beautiful buildings. The next day, we will take a guided tour to explore its busy markets, visit the oldest university in the world, and see how leather is made at the tanneries. Fez offers delicious food and a glimpse into the rich culture of Morocco. Strolling through its ancient streets feels like stepping back in time, making your visit unforgettable!

On Day 7, we will explore two amazing historical places: Meknes and Volubilis. Meknes is one of the old royal cities in Morocco, and it is full of history and culture. We will visit the beautiful Moulay Ismail Mausoleum and the grand Bab Al-Mansour gate. Then, we will travel to Volubilis, an ancient Roman city with well-preserved ruins. You can walk among old columns and see stunning mosaics that tell stories from the past. This day will take you through royal and Roman history.
Each day, we will travel between cities and beautiful places. Some days will have longer drives (up to 6-7 hours), especially when going to the desert or between Marrakech and Fes. But do not worry! We will take breaks to explore, enjoy the views, and experience the fantastic culture of Morocco along the way.
