Morocco Itinerary 7 Days From Casablanca

Our 7-day Morocco itinerary begins at the airport, where our driver will greet you in a private vehicle. If you are already in Casablanca, we will pick you up from your hotel. Our first stop is the Hassan II Mosque, one of the tallest mosques in the Islamic world, open to non-Muslim visitors. After lunch, we will head to Rabat, the capital city of Morocco and a UNESCO World Heritage site. We will visit the 12th-century Hassan Tower and the historic Kasbah of the Oudayas. Next, we will travel to Chaouen, a picturesque town in the Rif Mountains. Famous for its blue-painted Medina. We will discover the Medina, visit the kasbah, and admire the textile heritage of the town before relaxing at our riad in the historic center.

After breakfast in Chefchaouen, we will visit Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an ancient Roman city with fascinating ruins like the Temple of Jupiter and the Arch of Caracalla. Next, we explore Meknes, an imperial city from the reign of Sultan Moulay Ismail. Highlights include the grand mausoleum, the Medina, and the famous Bab Mansour gate. Meknes is also a UNESCO-listed site. After sightseeing, we will head to Fes, another imperial city rich in history and culture. Known for its medieval Medina and vibrant atmosphere, Fes is a must-visit destination. Overnight stay in a riad in the Medina.

After breakfast, we will take a guided tour of Fes, starting at the Royal Palace gate and the Jewish quarter (Mellah). Next, explore the medieval Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, entering through the Blue Gate (Bab Boujloud). We will visit sites like the Medrasa Bouanania, Najjarine Fountain, Tanneries, and the Quaraouin Mosque, the oldest university in the world. We will continue to enjoy panoramic city views from an ancient fortress before returning to your riad for the night.

After breakfast, we will travel south via Imouzzer and stop in Ifrane, a pretty town with European-style buildings and cool weather. Next, we will visit the Cedars Forest to see the monkeys. We will continue through the Middle Atlas Mountains and stop in Midelt for lunch. Then, we will drive through the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and along the Ziz River. In the afternoon, we will reach Merzouga, where we will ride camels across the sand dunes to watch the sunset. We will enjoy Berber drumming by the campfire, a tasty dinner at the luxury desert camp, and spend the night under the stars.

We recommend waking up early to watch a desert sunrise before riding camels back to Merzouga. Our trip continues with off-road driving to an ancient eyeliner mine. Then, we will visit nomadic families to learn about their unique way of life and enjoy a cup of Berber tea. Next, visit Khamlia village, where we will experience the hypnotic rhythms of Gnaoua music, performed by descendants of sub-Saharan Africans. After lunch at a local restaurant, explore the lush palm groves and visit the serene Flamingos Lake before spending the night at a hotel in Merzouga.

After breakfast, we leave the desert and travel to Rissani, the historical capital of Tafilalet, where we can visit the lively market (souk) held on specific days. Next, we stop in Erfoud to visit a fossil workshop before continuing through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad. Arriving at Todra Gorges, admire the dramatic rock formations rising to 300 meters. We will have free time to explore before lunch. Later, we drive through Boumalne Dades to see the Monkey Fingers rock formation and a panoramic view of the valley. We will enjoy dinner and spend an overnight in a charming riad.

On the final day of the 7-day Morocco itinerary, we will visit the Roses Valley, famous for its annual Rose Festival in May, showcasing perfumes, rose water, and other products. Next, we will drive through the Skoura Palm Grove before reaching Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Desert.” After lunch, we visited Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. This place is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has appeared in movies like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Finally, we will cross the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass through the High Atlas Mountains, stopping for photos before arriving in Marrakech. We end the 7-day Casablanca to Marrakech desert tour.
