Explore Morocco in 5 Days: Essential Itinerary Guide

Day 1: Arrival in Tangier – Chefchaouen (110 km – 2 h)

Your 5 Days in Morocco start with a pickup from Tangier, whether at the port, airport, or hotel. Tangier, known as the “Bride of the North,” is where the Mediterranean meets the Atlantic. First, we will visit Cape Spartel and the famous Hercules Cave. Then, we will drive to the village of Tetouan. Tetouan is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with a beautiful old town and white buildings. It is known as the White Dove City and has Spanish influences since it was the capital of the Spanish Protectorate of Morocco in the 20th century. After exploring Tetouan, we will head to Chaouen, also known as Chefchaouen. This Blue City is famous for its blue-toned medina in the Rif Mountains. You will spend the night in a Riad near Uta el-Hammam square.

Day 2: Chefchaouen – Fes (Guided Tour) (200 km – 5 h)

Start day two of your 5 Days in Morocco with breakfast in a riad in Chefchaouen. Then we travel through the Rif Mountains toward Fes. Once in Fes, we will tour the Medina with a local guide, including the Karaouine Mosque and University—the oldest in the world. Explore madrasahs like Bou Inania and Cherratine, the Mausoleum of Moulay Idris, the Tanners’ Quarter, the Royal Palace with golden gates, and the old Jewish quarter (Mellah). After an enriching cultural day, enjoy dinner and spend the night in a charming riad.

Day 3: Fes – Ifrane – Cedars Forest – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga (470 km – 7h)

Your 5 Days in Morocco continue south after breakfast. We stop in Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco,” then visit the cedar forest, home to friendly Barbary macaques. Next, we reach Midelt for a lunch break before crossing the scenic Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass. We drive through the Ziz Valley, famous for its palm groves and stunning views. In the afternoon, arrive in Merzouga, where camels will take you across the golden dunes. Enjoy the sunset from a high dune, then spend the night in a luxury desert camp with dinner, music, and stars.

Day 4: Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Boumalne Dades (270 km – 5 h)

On day four of your 5 Days in Morocco, we leave the desert and head to Rissani, a lively town known for its traditional market. Then visit Erfoud, famous for its fossil workshops. We continue through lush palm groves in Touroug and Tinjdad to reach the impressive Todra Gorges, where you will have free time to walk between the towering red cliffs. After lunch, we head to the Dades Valley. Along the way, admire the unique “Monkey Fingers” rock formations. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in a comfortable riad in Boumalne Dade

Day 5: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech (260 km – 5 h)

On the final day of your 5-Day Morocco tour, after breakfast, we travel through the Valley of Roses, famous for its fragrant rose products and annual festival. Next is Skoura, a palm-filled oasis, followed by Ouarzazate, the gateway to the desert and home to film studios. After lunch, we explore the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a backdrop for films like Gladiator. Then, cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi-n-Tichka pass, stopping for photos. We arrive in Marrakech by evening, where your unforgettable journey ends.
