3-Day Marrakech to Merzouga Desert tour

Day 1Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou – Roses Valley – Dades Valley

We begin our 3-day Merzouga desert tour with an early pick-up from your accommodation in Marrakech or the airport. The trip takes you through the majestic High Atlas Mountains and the scenic Tizi-n-Tichka Pass. Along the way, enjoy panoramic views and stops for photographs. Our first major stop is the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified village recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a famous filming location for movies and TV series. After exploring Ait Ben Haddou, we head to Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Desert,” for lunch. Continuing through the picturesque Rose Valley, we pass the palm groves of Skoura before arriving at Boumalne Dades, where you will enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in a charming riad. Day 2Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga Sahara – Camel Trekking – Luxury Desert Camp

On the second day of your 3-day Merzouga desert tour, we start with a scenic drive through the Dades Valley. Enjoy a stop at a viewpoint overlooking the dramatic rock formations of the gorges before continuing to the breathtaking Todra Gorges. These towering red cliffs provide a stunning backdrop for a leisurely walk or photo opportunities. After that, we drive through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad. We will take a break for lunch along the way. By the afternoon, we arrive in Merzouga, where you will switch to camels for a trek across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. Witness a magical sunset before reaching your luxury desert camp. Enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner under the stars, accompanied by Berber music and drumming around the campfire. Day 3Merzouga – Draa Valley – Anti-Atlas Mountains – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

Begin your day with an early sunrise over the Sahara Desert. After breakfast, ride camels or take a 4×4 back to Merzouga, where your driver awaits. We then visit Rissani, a town known for its vibrant souk and historical significance as the former capital of Tafilalet. From Rissani, we journey through the scenic Draa Valley, famous for its lush palm groves and Berber villages, before reaching Ouarzazate. Take a break and explore the city’s unique charm. Finally, we cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass, arriving in Marrakech by evening. We end the 3-day Merzouga desert tour.
