You will stay in a traditional Moroccan riad located in the city center. On your first day, you can explore Fes at your own pace, depending on your flight arrival time.

Day 2:Guided sightseeing tour of the city

After breakfast at the riad, we will take you on a tour of Fes, guided by a local expert. Fes is a city in Morocco known for its rich culture and religious importance. We will start at the Royal Palace gate and then explore the lively medieval Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will enter through the colorful Blue Gate, Bab Boujloud. As we walk around, you will see the beautiful architecture of the Medrasa Bouanania, enjoy the lovely Najjarine Fountain, and visit the ancient Tanneries, known for their strong scents.

We will also stop by the Quaraouin Mosque and University, one of the oldest universities in the world. Next, we will go to the historic Jewish quarter, the Mellah, where you can sense its rich history. After that, we will take you to an old fortress with beautiful views of the Medina and the city of Fes. Finally, we will bring you back to your riad to think about the daytime experiences.

Day 3:Fes – Ifrane – Cedars forest – Midelt – Ziz valley – Erfoud – Merzouga Sahara

We will start the day with a warm breakfast. Then, we will drive south through Imouzzer to Ifrane, known as the Switzerland of Morocco for its pleasant weather, snow, and alpine-style buildings. Next, we will visit the cedar forest to see Barbary Macaques. We will stop for lunch in Er-Rich before heading to the Sahara Desert. On our way, we will cross the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and follow the Ziz River. In the afternoon, we will arrive at the Merzouga Sahara Desert. You will ride a camel to cross the sandy desert and watch the sunset from a tall dune. Then, we will reach the luxury camp in the desert. You can hear Berber drumming and dancing around the campfire under the stars. Later we will serve dinner in the camp, where you will spend the night.

Day 4:Merzouga – Nomads – Khamlia – Erg Chebbi dunes – Palm grove

Wake up early to see the beautiful sunrise over the desert. After breakfast, we will ride our camels back to Merzouga, where our driver will meet us. This 10-day Morocco trip includes exploring the dunes, wild lakes, fossil sites, and oases in Merzouga. We will visit an old eyeliner mine, meet nomads in their tents, and enjoy Berber tea. Our itinerary was full of great experiences. Visiting Volubilis and seeing the impressive Roman ruins was perfect for history lovers. The guide shared interesting stories about its past. We also enjoyed a pastilla, a savory-sweet pie, at Café Clock in Fes, which was a highlight of our meals. Every meal was tasty, and staying in traditional riads made our visit even more special.

I was worried about visiting cultural sites, but the team gave me great tips. The Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca was terrific, and the guide explained its architectural importance. Our time in the souks of Marrakech was well-planned, and we went during quieter hours to make shopping more fun. The advice about dressing respectfully at religious sites was invaluable.
