Camel riding is a must-do activity for Moroccan kids.

One of the experiences that family trip with children like the most are riding a dromedary. Although it is common to refer to these animals as camels, they are their cousins and only have one hump, unlike the two that real camels have, which live in different parts of Asia. Let us remember that dromedaries have traditionally been the best ‘means of transport to cross the desert, and even today we use them to reach the most remote places in the Sahara, such as the Erg Chebbi dunes. However, it is also possible to enjoy a ride on the back of this animal without practically leaving some cities. For example, Marrakech: its palm grove, located on the outskirts, is the ideal place to carry out this experience.

On the beach, you may go horseback riding.

Horseback riding is perhaps an experience that your children will have at hand at home. But perhaps it is not so usual that this walk is on the sand of the beach. That is what you can do in Essaouira: if you come to Morocco with children, this is one of the most recommended proposals, since to the south of the city there are extensive beaches for it, as well as very safe inland trails. And, by the way: maybe you will cross paths with dromedaries!

Riding in a carriage

As you can see, children in Morocco can enjoy a variety of rides, not all of which are on the backs of animals: horse-drawn carriage trips are also available, which will allow you to see several cities from a different perspective. Marrakech is the city where you will have it easier, namely in the Palm Grove region, but also in the vicinity of Jemaa el-Fna Square.

Rabat Zoological Garden

There are many families who take advantage of their trips to other cities and other countries to visit their zoos, as it is a way of seeing other animal species that are not always close at hand at home. For this reason, a good option is the Rabat Zoological Garden, the most important in Morocco. It has several biozones, such as the desert, the savannah, the humid zones, and the tropical forest. Special mention deserves its large terrarium, with iconic reptiles of the African fauna.

Meet near the marina for wildlife.

If your children like marine animals more, they have two possible options. The first is the Agadir Dolphin World, located on the outskirts of Agadir, where shows with dolphins, sea lions, and other aquatic animals are held. And the second is the Mall Morocco aquarium, called Aquadream, located in the center of the aforementioned shopping center.
