Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou – Roses Valley – Dades Valley (260 km – 5 h)

Your 4-day Marrakech to Fes desert tour starts with an early pick-up from your hotel or the airport. Firstly, our trip will take us through the beautiful High Atlas Mountains. We will cross the Tizi-n-Tichka pass, which is 2,260 meters high, and stop to enjoy the stunning views. Our first main stop is Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO site famous for its old architecture and appearances in films like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. After visiting the Kasbah, we will go to Ouarzazate, also called the Gateway to the Desert, to see Atlas Studios, where movies like Gladiator and Game of Thrones were filmed. After lunch, we’ll drive through Skoura’s palm groves and the Rose Valley before reaching the rock formations of Dades Valley in the evening. You’ll have dinner and spend the night in a comfortable riad.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga Sahara – Camel Trekking – Luxury Desert Camp (270 km – 5 h)

On the second day of your 4-day tour from Marrakech to Fes, we will travel through the beautiful Dades Valley. We will stop to enjoy the stunning views of the rock formations. Next, we will head to Todra Gorges for a relaxing walk along the tall red cliffs, which is excellent for photographers. Day 3: Merzouga – Nomads – Khamlia – Erg Chebbi Dunes – Palm Grove (50 km – 1 h)

We recommend waking up early to see the beautiful sunrise over the golden dunes. After breakfast, we ride our camels back to Merzouga, where the driver awaits us. Today, we explore desert life. We visit an ancient eyeliner mine, where people used to get black powder for makeup. Then, we meet nomadic families, share mint tea with them, and learn about their simple way of living. In Khamlia village, we listen to Gnaoua music, a special type of African drumming. After lunch, we walk through a palm grove, a peaceful oasis of green trees in the midst of the desert. We also stop by Flamingo Lake, where pink flamingos sometimes gather. After a long day of exploring, we enjoyed a nice dinner and slept in a comfortable hotel in Merzouga.

Day 4: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Anti-Atlas Mountains – Cedar Forest – Ifrane – Fes (470 km – 7 h)

On the last day of your 4-day tour from Fes to the Merzouga desert, we’ll leave the desert after breakfast and head to Rissani, a lively town known for its traditional market, especially on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Next, we’ll visit a fossilized marble workshop in Erfoud. As we drive along the Ziz River, we’ll stop to enjoy the valley views before having lunch in Midelt. Afterward, we’ll travel through the Cedar Forest and Ifrane, and finally, we’ll arrive in Fes, where we’ll drop you off at your accommodation or the airport.
