We begin our 3-day desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga with an early pick-up from your accommodation in Marrakech or the airport. The trip takes you through the majestic High Atlas Mountains and the scenic Tizi-n-Tichka Pass. Along the way, enjoy panoramic views and stops for photographs. Our first major stop is the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified village and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is also a well-known location for filming and TV series. After exploring Ait Ben Haddou, we head to Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Desert,” for lunch. We will travel through the beautiful Oasis of Skoura, known for its palm groves, and then pass the Rose Valley. Finally, we will reach Boumalne Dades, where you will have dinner and spend the night in a lovely riad in Dades Valley.
On the second day of your 3-day desert tour from Marrakech, we start with a scenic drive through the Dades Valley. Enjoy a stop at a viewpoint overlooking the dramatic rock formations of the gorges before continuing to the breathtaking Todra Gorges. These towering red cliffs provide a stunning backdrop for a leisurely walk or photo opportunities. We next take a drive through Touroug and Tinjdad’s palm groves. We will take a break for lunch along the way. By the afternoon, we arrive in Merzouga, where you will switch to camels for a trek across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. Witness a magical sunset before reaching your luxury desert camp. Enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner under the stars, accompanied by Berber music and drumming around the campfire. Start your day by watching the sunrise over the Sahara Desert. After breakfast, you can ride camels or take a 4×4 back to Merzouga, where your driver will be waiting. Next, we visit Rissani, known for its lively souk and rich history. We then travel through the Draa Valley, passing palm groves and Berber villages, before reaching Ouarzazate for a short break. Our journey ends as we cross the High Atlas Mountains and return to Marrakech by evening, wrapping up your 3-day desert tour.
